Many students at the high school level struggle with proper ways to study and organize themselves. By the time many students get to us, their grades have often suffered from poor study habits and/or a lack of organizational skills. This can be the case for a variety reasons, usually because the student has not developed the skills necessary on his/her own to manage their time and resources properly. Our goal is to help teach our students the necessary methods and utilize the many tools at their disposal to maximize their work time. We want this type of tutoring to have a long-lasting affect that transcends through their schooling, to when they are out in the real world when it counts the most! Often times, this specialized area of tutoring can be the most valuable service we offer to our students.

The majority of inquiries we get are for math and/or math-related subjects, so naturally, most of our tutors can go up to a high level in a wide variety of math disciplines. These skills are important to master during high school, especially if a student wants to enter a STEM major in college. Many students start to struggle with the required science subjects in high school. Biology and Chemistry are two required courses that every high school student must take, both of which are not easy for the majority of high school students. Other science subjects such as Physics and Anatomy/Physiology are commonplace in high school as well, and can also be difficult for students to comprehend. We often get inquiries from students or parents of students who need help composing essays, research papers and speeches. Many times, our students have the right ideas for a paper, but suffer from verbal processing issues that keep those ideas from being communicated in a clear way. Other times, students may be able to communicate these ideas, but may have trouble retrieving, citing, and formatting their papers in the correct way. Students are required to take a minimum of 2 years foreign language to graduate high school, and a minimum of 3 years to get in to most colleges. With the right tutor, struggling foreign language students can raise their foreign language grade and in doing so, raise their overall GPA.
